Insanity Day… 23?

I’ve missed about 5 workouts (3 of which I’ve subbed for running or biking, the other two I’ve taken for rest.)

I was running myself into the ground trying to work 40 hours a week, handle a social life, and do Insanity 6 days a week. I will be continuing to integrate Insanity workouts into my week. However, I really want to work on my 5k time (currently at 30:26) and I’m getting my wisdom teeth out next week, so I’m going to lose 4 or 5 days of workouts anyway.

That being said, I did Power and Resistance today and it was awesome. I think I’ll use Insanity as more of a strength thing to supplement my cardio days. Especially Insane Abs, that sh*t is bananas. :)

Insanity Day 16

I know “I don’t have time to workout” doesn’t fly around here, but I got home from work at 6 today and had a party to go to at 7.

SO basically I did the warm up, skipped most of the stretching, and did the first circuit for plyometric cardio, and then I took a shower and now I’m heading out…

20 minutes of Insanity is better than skipping it completely.  :)

Insanity Day 15

So I did the WRONG video for Day 1, which was supposed to be the fit test. The link I had led me to another video and since it was the first day, I didn’t realize what I was doing wasn’t right.

So, since I downloaded the videos now, I have the fit test, which I did today! Unfortunately, I don’t have anything to compare my results to yet… but just you wait another two weeks… I’ll be killing it. ;)

That being said, I’m not too happy with these results, and I know it’s because the past week I’ve been eating like crap and running my body into the ground. Holiday’s over, now it’s time to get back to business.

I didn’t do Insanity last night.

I ended up having to stay at work until after 7 (which is an 11 hour day), my register was off 25$ that we couldn’t find in any of my transactions, and I didn’t get home until 8… I had plans with my boyfriend which I cancelled, and I was honestly just completely wiped out. I ended up going to bed at 10, exhausted, sore, and sad.

I’m going to do it as scheduled today, though. Trying not to let this get me down.

Insanity Day 11

Sooo glad today was recovery!

I really like the recovery video. And I honestly don’t think I could’ve done another cardio today, I’m so exhausted. But yeah! It seemed a lot easier this week than last week, which is cool. Also, this is probably already the longest I’ve stuck to a program like this, so props to 11 days of discipline woooo. Only 49 more to go :)

Insanity Day 10

Today was the first day I was really like “Ugh, I don’t want to do this.”

But I did! And I’m glad I did it :) Although I’m starting to HATE plyometric. :/

Does anybody else actually end up kicking their butt during but kicks because I think I’m getting bruises.

Insanity Day 9

Today was OK for Insanity, but foodwise… urgh.

It’s been a lonnnggg time since I overate as much as I  did today. I think I’ll still be okay calorically, but I wish it’d been HEALTHY foods instead of butter cookies, chocolate kisses, and caramel corn.

Every day is a new day. I just need to remember that when I eat that stuff, every bite puts me farther away from my goal, and I don’t get to fall back into old habits just because I’ve been good for a while.

Gah. Tomorrow will be better. :)

Insanity Day 8

Whew! Glad I got that day of rest… Cardio Power + Resistance today!

My wrists were bothering me again a lot today. I subbed some of the push up action with super fast hip lifts, because I was already on the floor and I wanted to keep moving. That being said, I KILLED the plank sprints or whatever those are today. Killed them.

Today was my first day back to work, and I’m a little worried about fitting in Insanity with working full time these next few weeks. Wish me luck, I’l keep you all posted :)

Insanity Day 6 (DONE Week One)

Did Plyometric Cardio Circuit again today, and I have to say… the ceilings in my house are much lower than in my dorm room. I jumped too high and hit my hand on the ceiling when doing the basketball jumps. Also, I tripped and fell down during the 1-2-3’s in the warm up.

Other than that, it was definitely easier this time around, and I’m AMAZED that I’m already seeing progress in how many push-ups I can do. I only did one set on my knees this time around! AND as an added bonus, my wrists barely bothered me at all.

As much as I am truly enjoying this, I can’t wait for my rest day tomorrow. Hopefully Monday my muscles will be good as new :)

Insanity Day 5

Today’s video was not that bad, although I did have to (again) do 90% of the push ups on my knees… man were they hard today after all I did yesterday!

Pure Cardio: a pretty good workout, but not as intense (in my opinion) as the other videos. I’m gonna go to the gym for a run now! I never thought I’d actually miss running enough to do two workouts in a day!

Insanity Day 4

Whewww that was work! But it was gooood. I did more push ups than I’ve ever done in my life! Sweat was dripping off me in ways it never has before haha.

I already miss running though :( I know I could go running too in addition to Insanity, but a) I don’t want to overtrain, and b) I don’t think I could eat back all those calories.

What do you guys think? Could I sub running for Insanity some days, or add it on top of the workout?

Insanity Day 3

Sooo today I was supposed to do Cardio Power & Resistance, but I read the calendar wrong (like three times, because I thought the same thing last night) and did Cardio Recovery instead.

It was great haha! It felt almost like a vinyasa yoga class. Tomorrow I’ll do Power & Resistance. I think it was good I did recovery today anyway because I was pretty sore today and I’m not sure if I could’ve done another super intense work out.

I am kind of bummed I messed it up though :( oh well time for dinner

Okay, now that I’m breathing again.

Insanity day 2: Plyometric Cardio Circuit

This felt a little easier that yesterday’s workout. It was a little shorter (but it felt there were less breaks), and I found the moves a little easier. Some highlights:

  • The sweat was literally dripping off me, every exhale sent a few drops flying from my upper lip.
  • My roommate walked in at the end yelling “WORK THAT HOT BOD GIRL” I think she was making fun of me (?). I wasn’t paying attention, but it felt good anyway.
  • I didn’t have to stop as much, I think because there were less plank/pushup based moves. There were two in the circuit called “level 1 drills” which were like pushups, mountain climbers, and burpee, and then ski jump-y things in plank positions. Those killed me, especially since my back/shoulders were so sore already.
  • My wrists didn’t bother me so much! Although this could’ve been b/c there weren’t as many moves on my wrists.
  • Annnd I’m still chugging down the water. Already got my 2 liters for the day and working on the third.

Phew! These cardio circuits are rougghhh! I can’t wait to do the video that targets abs, but that’s not till next Friday! :( Tomorrow is Cardio Recovery which will hopefully give me some time to get the soreness outof my calves and back.

I’m loving this! Have you guys done your workouts today? How are you doing?

Insanity Day 2
Directly after Insanity: this was the best smile I could do. Also,  there’s now a stain on my bed spread from the sweat dripping down my face as I was leaning over to take this picture.

Insanity Day One

Some highlights of Insanity Max Interval Circuit

  • I freaking love punching.
  • My wrists bothered me pretty bad today, so every switch kick/plank/push-up had poor form and was dumb
  • I could only do one set of side burpees.
  • It was really nice to see the people taking a break from the circuit… it’s like, it’s not supposed to be easy. Even though they were doing exponentially better than me, tt made me feel okay about going at my own pace.
  • I did the first few push-up sets okay, but every on after those, and most of the plank punches were on my knees.
  • I forgot to count how many I could do because I was dying.
  • I drank a whole liter of water in an hour
  • I felt like I was going to puke a few times (but I didn’t!).

Have any of you done Insanity? Did you have as much trouble with it as me?
